This Year is Looking Bright {Back to School Gifts}

I'll be the first to admit that a back to school gift for your students is not necessary. However, it is something I do every year. It's an easy way to let my incoming students know that I'm excited they are in my class, and it might even do a little something to ease their nervous little minds. Today I'm sharing a quick and easy gift idea. Keep reading for all the details.

This year, I'm giving my students a few glow bracelets with this note attached.

I originally saw this idea on Pinterest (click HERE to see the original pin), but it was a dead end link.  I was hoping the pin might lead me to a printable tag, but no such luck.  So, I made my own!

How to Assemble
First, you'll need to print the gift tags, and cut them out. You can grab the tags {HERE}. That link will take you to a PDF that you can download. You will need to sign the tag by hand (which adds a personal touch), or you can share it with students without a signature.

Next, cut some scrapbook paper into 4 x 6 inches pieces.

Then, tape two glow bracelets (I got mine at Michael's: 15 bracelets for $1) to the center of each piece of scrapbook paper.

After that, it's time to attach the label to the scrapbook paper. To do this, glue along the top and bottom of the "Looking Bright" tag (see below). Then, place the tag on top of the bracelets (by placing the glue at the top and bottom of the printable tag you avoid getting glue on the bracelets). I used rubber cement, but a glue stick would work just fine.

That's all there is to it! Here's one last look at the finished product. It's a quick, easy, and inexpensive gift idea.

More Ways to Use the Gift Tag Freebie
These tags can also be used with other items too!  Here's a list of ideas:
  • highlighters
  • any object that glows (glow stick, wand, etc)
  • light up rings, bracelets, key rings, etc.
  • finger flashlights
  • sunglasses
You could even attach them to some fun glasses like these. You can usually find glasses like these at Dollar Tree or other stores with a section of party favor items. I found these on Amazon.

To attach the tag to the glasses above, I punched a hole above the letter "g" in the word "looking" and then tied the tag to the glasses with some super narrow ribbon.

 DON'T FORGET IT, PIN IT!

Are you still here?  If so, I've got another back to school freebie for you!  Just print, cut, and attach to a bag of Goldfish crackers.  Click here to download.  Enjoy!

  21. Hi Aimee!

These are sooo cute! I want to do the "o-fish-ally" tags for Open House, but I teach Preschool. By any chance would you consider doing a "Preschooler" tag?

    All the best,

  25. This freebie is not editable. There is space at the bottom of the note to write your name by hand, which is always a nice way of adding a personal touch to your gift. :)
